Harley Race has been diagnosed with lung cancer

Earlier today, we addressed the reports on the health of former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Harley Race.

Race’s World League Wrestling issued a statement and said that Race would talk about his health issues when he is ready.

Since that time, David Marquez of Championship Wrestling From Hollywood confirmed on Twitter that Race has been diagnosed with lung cancer. The news broke on Friday night when Ric Flair talked about it during a Q & A alongside Hulk Hogan for “Legends of the Ring” in Atlantic City.

Marquez added that the cancer is not terminal. He wrote, “I’ve just spoke to Harley Race’s family and yes he has been diagnosed with Lung Cancer but it’s not terminal. He’s being treated and supervised by his doctors. He is still very active in @worldleaguewlw and appreciates everyone’s concerns.”

Race still makes appearances at independent shows and conventions. However, due to various health issues, he has been confined to a wheelchair in recent years. We wish nothing but the best to the WWE Hall Of Famer.

Here is the tweet sent out by Marquez:
