Drew McIntyre is on the mend after battling a bad case of food poisoning.
The top WWE star was in rough shape last Friday but pushed through to appear as scheduled on WWE SmackDown after undergoing treatments backstage before the show. He had a segment with Karrion Kross where the former WWE NXT Champion choked him out.
McIntyre was originally scheduled to compete at the WWE live events over the weekend in Stockton, California and Fresno, California, but was given time off to recover.
Pwinsider.com reported today McIntyre is feeling better and is scheduled to be back on television this Friday for SmackDown as he is part of the creative team’s plans.
McIntyre recently challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at the Clash at the Castle event from Cardiff, Wales, but came up short. WWE has already confirmed that McIntyre will wrestle Kross in a strap match next weekend’s Extreme Rules premium live event from Philadelphia.
