It looks like Seth Rollins’ heel turn is complete.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins swore to Kevin Owens that he was not aligned with The Authors of Pain.
However, in a backstage segment that took place towards the second hour of the show, Owens was attacked by AOP. Rollins revealed himself (see below) in the back of AOP’s van and he stepped out and stood together with AOP and then curb stomped Owens.
After the attack, Rollins walked out to the stage with a microphone and asked the fans what they want from him. He said he’s trying to figure out what’s wrong.
Rollins said he fights through injuries and he doesn’t take nights off and he lays it all on the line for all of the fans. Through everything, he says he’s been spit on and disrespected. Rollins said last week he said he had nothing to do with AOP and he said that was the truth. Rollins said what he told Owens about not being aligned with AOP is the truth. He said he beat Brock Lesnar twice and he brought the Universal Title for the fans and that was still not enough. Rollins said that it is time for him to push back because the negativity has become a self-fulfilling prophecy and fiction has turned into fact and that has forced him to stand side by side with AOP. AOP walked out and stood side by side with Rollins on the stage as they cut away to Owens being loaded in an ambulance backstage.
WWE has been building to this heel turn for the last couple of weeks and the idea to turn Rollins heel came from him with some callbacks to Bret Hart’s heel turn in 1997. Up until Survivor Series, there were no plans to turn him heel but Rollins apparently felt it was necessary since the fans were already turning against him.
