WWE is considering a big inter-brand match for next month's Survivor Series pay-per-view.
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Champion Drew McIntyre are clearly the top stars in WWE right now and McIntyre has been vocal about wanting this match as he thinks it's the biggest bout that WWE could do right now.
Earlier this month, Triple H said that he thinks a feud between these wrestlers could be as big as The Rock vs. Steve Austin or Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair.
Dave Meltzer mentioned during today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that there has been talk of booking McIntyre vs. Reigns at Survivor Series. It should be noted that this is just talk and there are no plans set in stone as of this writing.
Meltzer said, “Look at that babyface roster, literally Roman Reigns, they got to keep doing this Jey Uso thing because they got nothing. There is nobody for Roman Reigns to face. I know there is talk of Roman and McIntyre for Survivor Series, which I would not make that match.”
The nature of the Survivor Series will call for Raw and SmackDown stars to co-exist for the next few weeks since that pay-per-view typically features brand vs. brand matches.
WWE Survivor Series will take place on November 22nd. If the plan is to do McIntyre vs. Reigns then that would mean that Orton's storyline with McIntyre and Reigns' feud with Jey Uso will conclude tonight at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.
