Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff generated buzz on Monday with a nostalgic throwback to their WCW days.
The iconic duo has released a black-and-white video, reminiscent of the New World Order (nWo) promos that defined the late 1990s wrestling landscape. In the cryptic video, Hogan and Bischoff declare their return and tease the involvement of a mysterious “third man,” echoing the formation of the nWo.
Hogan stated, “Why so serious? Because you know who I am.”
Bischoff added, ” But you don’t know why he’s here. This is so badass. You people know who we are. You have no idea what we’re about. We’re back. Hulkster, we are so back.”
Hogan continued, enthusiastic for the reunion, “You are my favorite of all favorites. But we ran so hard. We changed the world one time, but now we’re here to wake them up. We’re here to slice and dice the world of wrestling, and you’re not going to know what hit you.”
Bischoff further fueled speculation by referencing their past impact on the industry and hinting at a significant announcement regarding their mystery partner. “You know, we changed the world of professional wrestling….It’s going to rock your world. Should we tell them? Should we tell them who our third man is? Should we talk about his credentials? Should we talk about all of his championships? Should we talk about the world-class athletes that he has brought to the very top of this point? Should we talk about that? No. Not yet, but do stay tuned because when we do, it’s going to rock your world.”
Hogan said, “He’s a badass, too. He’s a real, real badass.”
Bischoff concluded the teaser, “We’re back. We’re better than ever. You can’t wait to see.”
PWInsider.com reports that they were told the project would be unveiled before the end of the week. Regarding the speculation that they could launch a new promotion, wrestlers they spoke with who would be available for a new pro wrestling project have given off the impression that there hasn’t been any talent recruitment from anyone representing Bischoff and/or Hogan.
