Hulk Hogan Biopic Starring Chris Hemsworth Scrapped

For years, there has been talk about making a Hulk Hogan biopic. However, that talk is officially over.

The movie about the life and career of the legendary pro wrestler has been in the works since 2019. Chris Hemsworth will play Hogan, and “Joker” director Todd Phillips was originally set to helm the piece.

In past interviews, Hemsworth has talked about wanting to do the film, but he will have to miss out on playing the iconic wrestler. Hogan stated last year that the project was dead in the water, and he described it as a ‘business glitch’ with Netflix once the streamer pulled out of the deal to produce the movie. Earlier this year, Hemswroth noted he was still holding out hope of doing the movie.

While speaking with Variety, Phillips stated, “I love what we were trying to do, but that’s not going to come together for me.”

In the meantime, Hogan has been making political appearances ahead of the 2024 US presidential election. He made headlines due to recent racially insensitive comments he made about US Vice President and 2024 candidate Kamala Harris. Also, while at a Hogan promotional event, a woman was injured by a beer bottle. For more on that, click here.
