A representative for Hulk Hogan has refuted recent alarming rumors about the WWE legend’s health, confirming to TMZ Sports that while Hogan was hospitalized this week for lingering neck and back issues, he is “by no means on his deathbed.”
Speculation about the 71-year-old’s condition began after radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge stated on his show that he had heard the wrestling icon was in such bad shape that his loved ones were being called in to say their goodbyes. Bubba did, however, add the caveat that while his source was “rock solid,” the situation could have changed since he received the information.
The rumors were quickly addressed by Hogan’s camp. A representative told TMZ Sports that the legendary wrestler is not close to death and is simply dealing with the same recurring ailments that have affected him for years as a result of his long in-ring career. In fact, the report states that Hogan is already “back to moving around” following the recent hospital visit.
This recent procedure comes just one month after Hogan underwent a separate neck surgery, which was reportedly a success. Hogan has had numerous surgeries and procedures over the past several years to address the cumulative damage to his body.
Hogan’s well-documented health issues, particularly with his back and neck, are a direct result of his decades-long, iconic career in professional wrestling. While the recent rumors created significant concern among fans, his representative has made it clear that this was another proactive step in managing these long-standing issues, not a dire emergency.
