The death of Hulk Hogan has taken another turn, as his widow, Sky Daily, is reportedly planning to file a medical malpractice lawsuit. The suit will be against at least one of the wrestling legend’s doctors and will center around the neck operation he underwent in May.
Hulk Hogan Autopsy
Hogan’s daughter, Brooke Hogan, first publicly offered to pay for an autopsy, stating that she believes there is still “speculation and uncertainty” surrounding his passing. She has since seen her father’s body and no longer suspects foul play.
A Lawsuit Is Reportedly Planned
According to a report from TMZ Sports, Sky Daily believes Hogan’s phrenic nerve, which controls breathing, was “compromised” during his neck surgery. This claim aligns with previous reports that an occupational therapist who was present at Hogan’s home on the day he died alleged to police that a surgeon had “severed” the nerve.
Sources who have reportedly heard the 911 call from that day say that Sky informed authorities, “My husband’s not breathing. He just stopped breathing,” suggesting the issue was respiratory arrest, not a sudden heart attack. The official medical examiner’s report listed the cause of death as a heart attack.
Sky Daily had a private autopsy performed, and while the results have not been made public, her plan to file a lawsuit strongly suggests the findings may support the medical malpractice claim. The Clearwater Police Department’s statement that was released after Hogan’s passing noted that there were “no signs of foul play or anything suspicious about the death.”
