Hulkamania is officially a million-dollar business. In a historic move for the pro wrestling market, Hulk Hogan’s match-worn boots from the very first WrestleMania have sold for a staggering $1,037,000 through Heritage Auctions. This sale marks the first time a professional wrestling collectible has ever crossed the seven-figure threshold.
The auction’s conclusion comes at a poignant time for the wrestling world, following the passing of the “Hulkster” in July 2025 at the age of 71. The yellow boots are widely considered the most iconic footwear in the industry’s history. Hogan wore them during the main event of WrestleMania I on March 31, 1985, at Madison Square Garden, where he teamed with Mr. T to defeat “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff.
The boots were meticulously photo-matched to the event and included a personal inscription from Hogan himself: “These are my real boots with my real blood on them from MSG, Hulk Hogan.”
The auction saw a showdown involving Logan Paul. Known for his massive investments in collectibles—including his record-breaking $16.5 million Pikachu Illustrator card—Paul revealed on social media that he stayed up until 2 a.m. in a desperate attempt to secure the boots.
Paul ultimately “tapped out” after pushing the price to $1,021,750. He congratulated the anonymous winner on X, noting that while the seven-figure bid was within reach, it wasn’t quite enough to take home the “Hulkster’s” history.

This sale represents a shift in how wrestling memorabilia is valued. To put the million-dollar price tag in perspective:
- Earlier in 2026, a Hogan boot from WrestleMania X8 (the famous “Icon vs. Icon” match against The Rock) sold for $146,400.
- The gap between that previous record and the WrestleMania I boots illustrates the premium collectors now place on the “origin point” of the WrestleMania phenomenon.
With the million-dollar barrier broken, experts believe other blue-chip items—such as Andre the Giant’s WrestleMania III singlet or Stone Cold Steve Austin’s “Austin 3:16” vest—could be the next to see explosive valuations.
How does a piece of memorabilia go from $66,000 to $1 million in 31 months?
Easy.
