AEW star Eddie Kingston has provided a major positive update on his recovery from injury. In a new social media post, Kingston shared a photo showing him back inside a wrestling ring for the first time since he was sidelined earlier this year.
Eddie Kingston Back In The Ring Training
In a photo posted to his official Instagram account, Kingston is shown training in a ring, a significant step forward in his recovery process. The picture is the first sign that “The Mad King” is getting closer to an in-ring return, which has generated excitement among AEW fans.
A Long Road To Recovery For Kingston
Kingston suffered a severe leg injury during a match against Gabe Kidd at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Resurgence event on May 11, 2024. The injury included a tibial fracture, A torn ACL, and A torn meniscus. Kingston underwent surgery to repair the damage and has been sidelined from wrestling since the injury. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation and physical therapy.
Kingston’s potential return comes at a pivotal time in AEW. AEW is coming off a storyline between new AEW World Champion, “Hangman” Adam Page, and the Death Riders faction, which is led by Kingston’s career-long rival, Jon Moxley, and his former close friend, Claudio Castagnoli. A healthy Eddie Kingston would be a major player in this deeply personal conflict upon his return to television.
