Injured WWE Star Expected To Be Back In The Mix By Clash In Italy Weekend

Stephanie Vaquer’s WWE return now has a tighter timeframe attached to it, with PWInsider reporting that the former Women’s World Champion is expected back in the WWE mix by the Clash in Italy weekend later this month.

Per PWInsider, the expectation internally is that Vaquer surfaces around the May 31 Turin show or in the build directly before it. A previous report last week pointed to a possible return for tonight’s Raw at the First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, NC, but PWInsider notes that as of the day of the show, Vaquer has not been heard to be in town for the taping.

Creative conversations around her have been picking up over the past 10 days, but the formal target appears to have moved out by roughly two weeks. WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select had previously reported that no return date for Vaquer was widely known inside the company and that internal rumblings pointed to a minimum six-week absence from the April 27 Raw written-off date, with the upper end of speculation pointing to SummerSlam. Clash in Italy on May 31 sits inside the realistic recovery window for a second-degree AC sprain and ahead of the broader SummerSlam track.

Vaquer was written off WWE TV on the April 27 episode of Raw in a backstage segment where Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, acting alongside Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, attacked her. Roxanne Perez rammed an equipment box directly into Vaquer’s shoulder during the segment. Michael Cole announced on commentary that Vaquer had suffered a second-degree AC sprain and would be out for a bit. Bryan Alvarez of F4W confirmed the injury was legitimate.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the injury was real and that the planned Vaquer-Morgan match for Backlash on May 9 in Tampa had to be pulled as a result. The origin of the AC sprain has not been confirmed publicly, with the possibility existing that the injury predated the Raw angle and that the attack was designed to write Vaquer off TV in a way that could be reincorporated into the Vaquer-Morgan program upon her return.

A return at Clash in Italy would likely come in service of resetting the Vaquer-Morgan program. Vaquer’s 210-day Women’s World Championship reign was the lead women’s main event story from September 2025 through WrestleMania 42 night one, where she dropped the title to Liv Morgan in a match that Bodyslam reported was kept under seven minutes due to both wrestlers heading into the show with physical issues.

Stephanie Vaquer is listed as a featured Superstar on the Clash in Italy poster alongside Cody Rhodes, GUNTHER, Liv Morgan, Seth Rollins, and others. The show takes place at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy on Sunday, May 31, with the June 1 episode of Raw following from the same venue.
