Rey Mysterio looks to be on his way to being an active in-ring performer again.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “Mysterio should be back any time now as far as in the ring.”
Mysterio had stated in a previous interview that while his partially torn triceps healed slower than he had expected, he was at about 99 percent. Thus, he’s close to returning.
It had been reported last month that the company had expected the former WWE Champion to be cleared in time for the WWE Hell In a Cell pay-per-view. This event takes place this Sunday.
The injury happened during the WWE Payback pay-per-view in August when he teamed up with his son, Dominik, to beat Seth Rollins and Murphy.
He didn’t need to get surgery to repair the injury, which if that did happen it would’ve kept him on the sidelines for several months.
WWE is moving forward with the storyline between the Mysterio family, Rollins, and Murphy as everyone involved was drafted to SmackDown.
