Injury caused wrestler to miss this week’s WWE NXT episode

There were various wrestlers and on-air personalities who missed this past Wednesday’s episode of NXT with no storyline explanation given by WWE.

It has been reported that there was a large outbreak of NXT wrestlers testing positive for COVID-19.

One name that was notably missing in action was Bobby Fish. The good news is that Fish missing the show wasn’t due to COVID-19.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Fish suffered a minor knee injury while training kickboxing and BJJ, “which is why he wasn’t on TV and not COVID.”

On Wednesday’s show that was taped just hours before the show aired on the USA Network, Danny Burch & Roderick Strong defeated Fabian Aichner & Raul Mendoza in a tag team match.

It was a mixture of wrestlers representing various teams coming together. As a result of Burch and Strong winning, WWE did a storyline where the two teams will battle against each other.

WWE has already confirmed that Burch & Oney Lorcan vs. The Undisputed Era will see the winning team become the new #1 contenders for the NXT Tag Team Titles.
