UPDATE: Del Rio worked a singles match at Tuesday’s SmackDown TV taping.
ORIGINAL: Former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio possibly suffered an injury at Sunday’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view event. Del Rio was competing in the MITB ladder match when he rolled out of the ring, and the referee checked on him. The referee then proceeded to throw up the dreaded X to alert WWE officials of a possible injury. It looks like the injury occurred during the final moments of the match when he landed awkwardly into the ropes.
Del Rio went to the hospital following the event to get his knee examined, according to PWinsider.com. Del Rio did travel to Monday’s RAW TV taping in Phoenix, Arizona. WWE has yet to publicly acknowledged his injury.
