Injury Update On Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens will be on the sidelines for several months, dealing with a neck injury requiring surgery. The WWE star addressed the situation on Friday’s SmackDown in a promo just weeks before he was slated to work with Randy Orton in a singles bout at WrestleMania 41.

He stated that he had been dealing with a neck injury for four months, and doctors were trying to figure out what it was. He said that he didn’t know when he would be back. An upset Orton ended up hitting an RKO to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis out of frustration once he was told he didn’t have a Mania match.

PWInsider.com reports that the injury is 100% real, with one source describing the situation as “awful. “Another source said the word tonight among talents was that Owens was looking at fusion surgery in the future.”

Finally, it was added that “the reaction among those we’ve spoken to in the company has been sympathy and sadness for Owens, not that this was storyline.”

We wish Owens a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in the ring.
