CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins is a match that is over a year in the making, as they’re slated to meet on tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, which will be the premiere episode on Netflix.
Rollins has called out and knocked Punk since Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023. They were supposed to wrestle at WrestleMania 40 for the World Title before Punk got injured.
During the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio on SportsKeeda’s Backstage Pass Patreon, it was noted that it’s been nearly 11 years ago to the day that Punk and Rollins wrestled their first match against each other.
“December 30, 2013 was a Monday night, where Raw opened up with a match between CM Punk versus Seth Rollins. The only time those two guys have wrestled one-on-one, either on the Indies or within the WWE, did happen about 12 years ago now, well, a little over 11 years ago at this point. So [it will be] interesting to see what happens Monday night when they are in the main event, in their second match, on Monday Night Raw.”
It will be the second time they’ve wrestled each other on Raw, and it will be Punk’s first bout on Raw since January 20, 2014, when he wrestled Billy Gynn.
