Shinsuke Nakamura has been the WWE Intercontinental Champion since August 13th when he beat Apollo Crews to win the title on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Since that time, Nakamura has regularly appeared on WWE television, but he hasn’t defended the title much while doing so. Wrestle Features pointed out that Nakamura has only defended the title once when an event is televised. According to CageMatch.net, his only televised title defense came on the September 24th edition of SmackDown over Crews.
It should be noted that this stat is only for TV or PPV events as he’s defended the title several times at live events, but since title changes rarely happen at house shows, many don’t consider those defenses as official successful defenses.
Shinsuke Nakamura won the IC Title in August.
In the 93 days since winning the title, he has defended it a total of ONE single time on WWE TV.
Why do they always book his IC/US Title runs so awfully? pic.twitter.com/3nv7AFse1u
