Solo Sikoa had his biggest match to date in his short WWE career when he worked his first-ever singles match at a PLE by wrestling John Cena at the WWE Crown Jewel 2023 premium live event from Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
Sikoa is the son of Rikishi and the younger brother of Jimmy & Jey Uso (Jonathan & Joshua Fatu). He signed with WWE in 2021. After working in NXT, Solo was called up to the main roster in September 2022 when he helped Roman Reigns retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Title over Drew McIntyre in the main event of the Clash at the Castle PLE, officially aligning himself with The Bloodline.
At Crown Jewel, Solo won the match with several Samoan spikes, wrapping up Cena’s stint with WWE for now. Cena has not won a singles match at a PLE since 2018 with a win over Triple H at Greatest Royal Rumble.
WWE Stats noted heading into the show that Solo joins Renee Dupree, Jesús, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, John Laurinatis, and Kevin Owens as stars who had their first singles PLE match against Cena.
