International star has spoken with WWE several times as of late

WWE is looking to expand its market share internationally, whether in Europe, Mexico, or Japan, by hosting premium live events in these countries and perhaps local Performance Center training facilities there.

To help that fight, they will need stars from those markets to do so in addition to their current crop of talent.

The star

As previously reported, there is massive WWE interest in Giulia, who has some sort of offer from WWE. Despite the interest from WWE, the NJPW star is not allowed to sign with anyone, including WWE, until her deal is up in March.

Should she decide to go to WWE and sign an NXT deal, then it could be matched by NJPW. However, if she signs a main roster deal, which starts at $250,000, that is more than she could make in NJPW.

Giulia is the current the New Japan Strong Women’s Championship after defeating Willow Nightingale.

The latest

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the latest update is “that she has not made her mind up and that she and WWE have spoken several times of late.”

The two sides have talked enough that there is something to the story and she has not told those in Japan that she’s staying nor that she’s leaving.
