A new biography promises to pull back the curtain on the life of one of professional wrestling’s most beloved figures: Gorilla Monsoon. “Irresistible Force: The Life and Times of Gorilla Monsoon,” penned by Brian Solomon, is set to be released on September 30th, 2025, by ECW Press.

The book will delve deep into the multifaceted career of Robert James “Gino” Marella, the man who captivated audiences as Gorilla Monsoon. Rising to prominence in the 1960s, Monsoon became a wrestling superstar known for his incredible size and strength, battling legends like Bruno Sammartino and Pedro Morales. His “Man Mountain” persona and captivating promos made him a fan favorite across the globe.

Beyond his in-ring prowess, Monsoon played a pivotal role in the business side of professional wrestling. He was a part-owner of the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF) alongside Vincent J.
