Following the Mae Young Classic tournament, there were several women that stood out and a few names seemed like obvious candidates to get a contract with WWE. A few names (Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane, for example) have been signed but there’s one fan favorite is still a free agent.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that 22-year-old Toni Storm has yet to be offered a contract by WWE. That is mindboggling because she is young and a good worker and was well-liked by everyone backstage during the tournament. She also was over with the fans that were in attendance for the tournament.
Both Storm and best-friend Viper were told after the tournament by WWE that they would be in touch with them but the belief is that there has been no contact from since the MYC tournament finale. It should be noted that if WWE reaches out to them then we might not know about it because the talent is oftentimes told to keep things under wraps. Word sometimes gets out when promoters are informed that a talent is no longer taking bookings after a certain date. In Storm’s case, she is still working regularly in Japan for the Stardom promotion so there is no sign of her going to WWE in the immediate future.
