Ivar’s injury could be worse than initially believed

It appears that the injury that Ivar suffered during Monday’s episode of Raw is serious.

Of course, the former WWE Raw Tag Team Champion took part in a match on this show that was cut short after he did a spot outside of the ring.

During an eight-man tag team match featuring The Viking Raiders, Ricochet, and Apollo Crews against The Hurt Business, Ivar did a dive through the ropes but landed wrong and throw up the “X” sign to signal an injury to WWE producers.

They went straight to the unplanned finish as Ricochet kicked out at the count of 2 even though the referee called for the bell. On Monday night, Pwinsider.com reported the belief among people backstage at Raw was that Ivar likely suffered a stinger.

Dave Meltzer noted on today’s episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that the injury is significant. However, there’s no word yet on whether he will need surgery.

“Nothing is for sure, but it has not been determined whether or not he will need surgery. It’s a significant injury. Once you say that, it tells you that it’s just not like a stinger where you’re gonna come back in two weeks.

It’s probably a lot worse than that. So, it’s not determined yet, but it’s absolutely as of today a possibility.”
