Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley have ascended to the top of the women’s tag team division. In the opening contest of Monday Night Raw, the powerhouse duo defeated The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Match Recap
The challengers established dominance early, utilizing Iyo Sky’s speed to outmaneuver Asuka and Rhea Ripley’s raw power, highlighted by a cannonball to the outside. However, the veteran chemistry of the Kabuki Warriors soon took over. The champions isolated their opponents with frequent tags and tandem offense, including a sequence where Kairi Sane delivered a double stomp to a rope-trapped Sky, followed by an Alabama Slam and a Boston Crab.
Momentum shifted when Sky finally made the hot tag to Ripley. “Mami” cleared the ring, setting up a tandem Razor’s Edge and Missile Dropkick combination. Asuka managed to break up the pinfall attempt, leading to a chaotic exchange of signature moves that saw both Sky and Asuka trading German suplexes.
The Finish
The closing moments saw the challengers execute a seamless finish. Sky connected with running double knees on Asuka, allowing Ripley to tag in. As Ripley hit the Riptide on Asuka for the pinfall, Sky simultaneously wiped out Sane at ringside with a suicide dive to ensure no interference could break up the count.
With this victory, Sky and Ripley ended the Kabuki Warriors’ reign and solidified their alliance with championship gold.
