Jack Swagger explains how his WWE career helped him for MMA transition



Former WWE Superstar Jake Hager (Jack Swagger) recently made an appearance on the Sauce & Shram Show where he discussed how being in WWE helped prepare him for MMA.

He made his pro-MMA debut when he beat J.W. Kiser by first-round arm triangle choke on the main card of Bellator 214. This fight that took place on January 26, 2019, at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

"The television aspect was very helpful, knowing that everyone is watching, you have to prepare yourself a certain way.” He would continue by stating, “having that experience, knowing when you're going to be on, helps you prepare mentally.”

Swagger added, “Being a pro wrestler helps me be a better MMA fighter because I'm comfortable in my own skin."

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion already has his next fight booked as he’ll take on T.J. Jones (1-1) at the upcoming Bellator 221 event. The show goes down on May 11th at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois and will air on DAZN.
