Jade Cargill Leaving AEW, Expected to Sign With WWE

Jade Cargill’s time with AEW is coming to an end.

The former TBS Champion recently returned to AEW at the 9/9 episode of Collision but her return is short-lived. Cargill wrestled TBS Champion Kris Statlander at the Rampage tapings in Cincinnati and Sean Ross Sapp is reporting that sources within WWE and AEW believe that she is WWE-bound.

Cargill signed with AEW in the Fall of 2020 and was given a huge push out of the gate because the feeling was that she could develop into a major star. Cargill’s winning streak continued into the first quarter of this year. She lost the TBS Title to Statlander at Double or Nothing and then took time off before her return last weekend.

No word yet on when Cargill will be free to sign with WWE but her signing with AEW was announced on November 20, 2020 so if she was under a 3-year deal then it should be up in less than a couple of months.

At Fightful Select, Sapp noted that he had heard that there were contract option years in play and he had not heard how long she has left on her AEW deal but as things stand at the moment, it appears that the match with Statlander during the Rampage tapings was her last with the company. There’s no official word on if WWE has made an offer but there are “wide rumors” in both companies about her making the jump. As always, plans can change.
