Jade Cargill Recalls Gruesome In-Ring Injury: ‘I Didn’t Know It Was That Bad’

Jade Cargill recalls a large gash opening up on her brow during a WWE SmackDown main event. The main event of the September 26, 2025, episode of Friday Night SmackDown was a Triple Threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship featuring then-champion Tiffany Stratton, Nia Jax, and Cargill. During the bout, Jade was shoved hard into the steel steps by Jax, opening up a large gash on her brow, which she showed off after the show.

In a new interview with WYFF News, Jade Cargill recalled that she didn’t initially feel the gash opening. She only realized the severity when the crowd reacted to it.

“I didn’t feel it. I think it was so much adrenaline going through my body. I didn’t know it was that bad until I was like looking in the camera talking and in unison, the entire arena said, ‘oh!’ and I was like, ‘okay, this must be bad.’”

Cargill continued, explaining that the reaction of the other women at ringside confirmed her suspicion. “Then, as I’m still talking out of my peripheral, I’m seeing all the women turn around and they’re like disgusted because I was going to get on the announcer’s table and like beat my chest and go crazy, and when I seen that, I said, ‘Okay, this must be really bad.’ Then our ref, Aja passed by and said, ‘you are bleeding like crazy.’ I said, ‘Okay, this is terrible.’ But you know, in our sport, you gotta keep going.”

While Cargill was unsuccessful in that September match, she would not be denied. At Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, 2025, Cargill defeated Tiffany Stratton in a one-on-one match to capture her first WWE Women’s Championship. Cargill is advertised to appear on the November 7 episode of SmackDown as the new champion.
