On a recent appearance on “Busted Open,” Jade Cargill spoke about her upcoming WWE Women’s Championship match against Tiffany Stratton. In the interview, Cargill offered her direct assessment of the champion, distinguishing her own unique presence from that of Stratton, whom she referred to as a “stereotypical champion.”
A “Stereotypical” Champion
When asked for her thoughts on Tiffany Stratton, Cargill was straightforward. “I think she’s great, but she’s not Jade Cargill,” she began. “I think she’s your stereotypical champion. I think that she’s what they expect and I’m what they can’t control.”
An Uncontrollable Force
When pressed by the hosts to elaborate on what “stereotypical” means, Cargill declined to specify, instead focusing on how she is perceived. “We don’t even want to go there. I don’t have to say it. It’s something I don’t even have to say,” she stated. “People aren’t used to a woman like me. People are not used to a woman like me. I go out there, I dominate. I know who I am, and people don’t like that at all.”
A Mix of Nerves and Confidence
Despite her confident persona, Cargill admitted to feeling a combination of emotions heading into her first-ever singles championship match in WWE. “It’s a combination of both, right? This is my first title, going for my first title solo at that,” she explained. “I’m not no one’s there next to me to talk me through anything. I’m a little nervous, but I know what I’m capable of. I’ve been prepared. I’ve had a lot of preparation. I have a lot of people who support me and know that I’m going to go out there and knock it out the park.”
Ready for the Moment
Ultimately, Cargill projected readiness for the high-stakes encounter. After host Mark Henry summarized her strengths and noted that the time for talking was over, Cargill agreed that all that was left was to perform. When the opportunity comes, she said her plan is simple: “Boom, boom, boom, show up, and it’s done.”
These comments set the stage for Cargill’s championship opportunity this Saturday, August 2nd, as she challenges Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. The full audio of this interview is available on the Busted Open podcast.
