Jake “The Snake” Roberts shared some unfortunate news regarding the health of Ricky Steamboat during the latest episode of the DDP Snake Pit podcast. Roberts talked about the infamous angle where he hit Steamboat with DDT onto concrete in 1986 during an episode of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Roberts noted Steamboat is having health issues right now but didn’t provide any further details.
“To be quite honest with you, I know Steamboat’s having issues right now,” Roberts said. “I hope to hell it wasn’t what I did. I really do man, because that haunts me. That’s beginning to haunt me a lot. Ricky, if you’re listening, you know I never meant to do that. I didn’t want to do that. I begged you not to do that. I just pray for you man. He’s a good dude man.”
Steamboat was hospitalized at the age of 57 in 2010 after an injury angle when he was attacked by the Nexus group on Monday Night Raw. He had bleeding on his brain after a capillary burst, which is usually caused by blunt force trauma.
The WWE Hall Of Famer recently made an appearance for MLW at their SuperFight event in Charlotte this past February. From all of us here at WrestlingNews.co, we send our best wishes to Steamboat.
