James Storm Reveals The Surprising Reason Why He Turned Down A WWE Contract

Appearing on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, “Cowboy” James Storm told the full story of why he never signed with WWE, revealing that he turned down an offer from Triple H due to contract details and family commitments.

After a successful tryout in NXT, Storm said the initial contract offered was changed. “They added 25 more dates, but the money didn’t move,” he said. He explained his family situation and a specific, small monetary request he made to Triple H based on an agreement with his wife.

“Hunter is like, ‘I just can’t do it.’ I was just like, ‘All right, well, I’m sorry, my wife gave me permission not to sign, so I’m going home,'” Storm recounted. He received another call from Triple H a few days later, but the terms could not be met. “He’s like, ‘No, I just don’t have the authority to do that.’ I was like, ‘I’m sorry, man. I’m gonna have to say no.'”
