Earlier this week, a report came out regarding Janel Grant’s claim that she was coerced into sending a “love letter” to Vince McMahon, a man against whom she filed a lawsuit.
The former WWE CEO was alleged to be involved in sex trafficking, sharing nude photos and explicit videos of Grant without consent, and other things from the former WWE employee. The company and former WWE Executive John Laurnatis were also named in the suit.
The New York Post obtained the letter that was sent on Dec. 24, 2021, in which she called him “my best friend, my love, and my everything.” Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, stated McMahon instructed Grant to write it. McMahon’s attorney, Jessica Taub Rosenberg of the law firm Kasowitz Benson Torres, gave the publication a response. For more on that, click here.
In a new interview with POST Wrestling and Wrestlenomics, Callis said the release of a love letter written is an attempt to intimidate Grant and “victim-shame her.”
Taub Rosenberg stated, “Ms. Grant’s letter is multiple pages, includes details of their relationship and indicates she wrote 24 drafts. It makes no sense to coerce someone to write 24 drafts of a multiple-page love letter.”
Callus responded, “For Vince McMahon, it’s further proof of misconduct,” Callis said. “Redoing and editing the letter — it wasn’t love, it was fear of repercussions. She [Grant] was, frankly, an emotional prisoner and was asked to [write a love letter] by Vince McMahon. This isn’t a new thing, like, ‘gotcha.’ It happens when people are sex trafficked.”
Rosenberg denies McMahon coerced Grant to write the letter and that more material will emerge that will support McMahon’s case. You can check out the full article here.
