– WWE announced Jason Albert as the new head coach for NXT during the WWE Experience event at the Arnold Sports Expo on Saturday night. The announcement was made to the wrestlers on Friday evening to the wrestlers via email but this would be the first time that the company has confirmed the news publicly. Albert is replacing Bill DeMott, who resigned yesterday following the allegations levied against him by former students.
– In other notes from Saturday’s WWE-related events in Columbus, the fans got a treat when Triple H came out to answer questions out of character. Hulk Hogan appeared as well and was promoting a supplement company and took questions from fans. Triple H was asked about NXT becoming it’s own brand and he responded by saying that it all depends on the fans and that they will grow the product over time. They also did open tryouts as well.
I heard from people that were there and by all accounts, everyone seemed to be having a great time, including the WWE talents that were there. I wouldn’t be surprised if NXT makes this an annual thing with a couple of shows before the expo and then having a presence at the expo itself.
Albert posted the following on twitter:
Sometimes doors open that you never expect to open and amazing opportunities are presented to you. I plan on busting through those doors!
