John Bradshaw Layfield might have some controversy surrounding his name but the fact that he stepped down from his position as a commentator on SmackDown Live in order to focus on his charity work deserves respect from anybody.
Riju from Sportskeeda recently had the chance to sit down with JBL where they discussed several subjects from wrestler’s court to his current status with WWE. Bradshaw was asked which current WWE Superstar he would like to face in the ring and it was very hard for him to pick just one.
“Oh, there’s so many right now. AJ Styles is just phenomenal. Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns…man…what a talent that guy is. He’s just unbelievable. I’d love to face a lot of these guys that are out there now. They are such talented individuals. It’d be an honor to be out there with them.”
JBL also discussed the cancellation of Talking Smack and seemed just as confused as anybody else as to why it got the ax. He then went on to clarify how it wasn’t really canceled, it was only relocated and the schedule was changed dramatically.
“I don’t know why. I like Talking Smack. Actually, it didn’t get canceled. It got moved just to pay-per-views. So, I’m not sure. I think what happened was after SmackDown you have 205 Live. Then you had Talking Smack. It was just too late in the evening for people to stay up to watch.”
Fans might have said goodbye to JBL on a weekly basis but he’ll still pop up every now and then. He will most likely be featured in some respect at WrestleMania and the Tribute To The Troops events still hold a special place in his heart. But as he focuses on his charity efforts it’s nice to see he’s always game for a little wrestling talk.
