JBL Says Finn Balor Has The ‘Curse Of Being A Great Worker’ And Deserves A Main Event Push

JBL believes Finn Balor has been held back throughout his career by the very thing that makes him so valuable, and says it is time for that to change.

Speaking on Something To Wrestle, JBL discussed Balor’s WrestleMania 42 Street Fight victory over Dominik Mysterio and why the Demon’s return should be the spark for a significant push up the card.

“Finn has the curse of being a great worker. That is a curse at times. You know, Dolph Ziggler had the same thing. Billy Gunn was like that. They put him with guys who, because he could make anybody look good. And that’s been Finn Balor. They know that Finn Balor is such a freaking great worker that he can go out there and make anybody look good, and you forget sometimes, wait a minute, he’s a great worker. Maybe we should push the great worker. Maybe that’s the idea. And that’s the same thing with Dolph, with Billy and Finn. These guys have the curse of being some of the best workers in the world. And when they’re like that, sometimes you get abused. Because of that, it’s hey, we need to get somebody over, this guy’s a little bit green. What can we do with him? I’ll put him with Finn, because Finn’ll make him look like a freaking million dollars. Well, if Finn can make him look like a million dollars, he can make himself look like a million dollars too. And people forget that sometimes. So yeah, I’m a huge fan of Finn Balor, and I would love to see him back at the top where he has been before, and he belongs,” JBL said.

He also backed up Randy Orton’s recently expressed desire to work with Balor, noting that the roster dynamics often prevent the best workers from finding each other.

“When you’re on a roster like that, and you have a guy like that, a lot of times you don’t get to work with them. Because, you know, like I say, with Finn, he’s such a great worker. He’s busy helping guys that aren’t such good workers. So you sit there on the roster going, I’d like to work with him. When Randy sees that, he’s seen something that he thinks, Oh my God, I could have incredible matches with that guy. What matches Randy could have with Finn Balor? Those could be world class,” JBL said.
