JBL: ‘I Think You’re Going To See’ Baron Corbin ‘Again In A Huge Way

JBL addressed his brief run as the manager of Baron Corbin and was asked whether he can see Corbin make a WWE return. Speaking on TMZ Inside The Ring, JBL praised Corbin’s versatility as an athlete, highlighting his background in professional football, boxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Despite their partnership ending abruptly in 2023, JBL remains a firm believer in Corbin’s long-term potential on a bigger stage.

“100%. I love what he’s doing. Baron’s a real smart guy. He’s a terrific athlete. Baron’s a tough guy. You ain’t play little pro football. He’s a Golden Gloves boxer. He’s done a lot with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He’s still to this day competing at it. Baron is incredibly talented, and I think Baron is going to do fantastic. And I’m glad that he didn’t decide just to throw it in and throw in the towel, and I’m glad he decided to keep doing stuff, because I think he’s got enough talent that you’re going to see him again. I think you’re going to see him again in a huge way. There aren’t many big guys like that that are really smart, that also can work and have a ton of talent, and Baron has all of that.”

The Hall of Famer admitted that he was never given a clear explanation for why their televised partnership ended after a loss to Dexter Lumis. JBL noted that while they were frequently booked for segments, there never seemed to be a long-term creative plan for the duo. He took personal responsibility for any shortcomings in the presentation, maintaining that Corbin himself is too talented for the industry to overlook for long.

“I had a lot of fun working with Baron. I wish I’d gone somewhere. I don’t have no idea what happened. They never gave us an idea of where we’re doing or anything. They asked me to come in one day, and they said, I said, where are you? They said, Oklahoma. I said, myself in to do that Oklahoma. You kidding me?”

Corbin has recently been making waves on the independent circuit and in other promotions like MLW since his departure from regular WWE programming.
