JBL thinks Roman Reigns is the most compelling character he’s seen in twenty years

JBL was the first guest on today’s episode of WWE’s The Bump to discuss a wide range of topics.

Right out of the gate, he was asked about the current rosters on both Raw and SmackDown coming out of this year’s Draft. The former WWE Champion offered some high praise to Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

“I think the thing that has impressed me the most is by far and above better than anything I’ve seen in maybe the last twenty years is Roman Reigns.

Roman Reigns to me is the most compelling character I’ve seen on television, I think in twenty years. it’s unbelievable how good he is. That character, the way it’s just transitioned and become the head of the table, I’m a huge fan.”

JBL was later asked about Reigns taking on the WWE Champion in Drew McIntyre while competing in a Champion vs. Champion bout at Survivor Series.

“To me, it lived up to every bit of the hype, which is hard to do when you talk about having a true heavyweight matchup like they had. You had two great champions and both of those guys are in the prime of their life.”

He continued by noting that they’re in the best condition of their life and they put on a show that fans had hoped to so. He’s unsure whether people really expected something that great, but he thought the match was outstanding.
