Jeff Hardy defeated AJ Styles to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship this week on Friday Night SmackDown.
Hardy was at a disadvantage going into the match because he was “injured” earlier in the show when Styles attacked his leg during the opening segment between the roster and Revolution. Later in the show, Hardy was cleared by a doctor with a brace on his knee.
Hardy was able to stay in the match and in the closing moments, he hit Styles in the face with the brace and the Swanton bomb to win the title.
During a post-match promo, Hardy said that he wanted to give people hope because he knows there are people struggling like he has in the past.
