Jeff Jarrett is bracing for the world to finally hear his side of the story.
Speaking on his My World podcast ahead of the premiere of Dark Side of the Ring’s deep dive into TNA, the Hall of Famer admitted he had wrestled with whether to take part in the project at all. “I’ve got mixed emotions,” Jarrett said, recalling the questions that ran through his mind. “Oh man, is this a good idea? Do I want to do this?”
Jarrett explained that the documentary represents an exhaustive look at his life and career, noting the sheer volume of material he and his wife Karen provided. “I did 16, 17, 18 hours of interviews, and there’s, I mean, that’s just one person,” Jarrett said. “Karen did seven or eight hours.” He praised the Dark Side team for the depth of their reporting. “They do a deep dive.”
For Jarrett, the most compelling part is that so much of the story is being told publicly for the first time. “Some of this is 20-plus years old, is getting out there for the first time,” he said. While he knows not everyone will come away satisfied, he’s most curious about how the new details will reshape people’s understanding. “You can’t make everybody happy. I’ve never been that delusional,” Jarrett said. “But I am curious to hear the feedback, specifically on folks going, ‘Oh, I wasn’t aware of that,’ or ‘Maybe I did have that part of the story wrong.'”
