Jeff Jarrett to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame

The founder of TNA Wrestling and mult-time champion in the USWA, WCW, and WWE – Jeff Jarrett will be inducted into the 2018 WWE Hall Of Fame during WrestleMania weekend.

The news was first reported by NBC Sports but word about his induction got out last week when Dave Meltzer reported that Jarrett was on the list. I asked someone close to Jarrett last week and I was told that Jarrett did not know anything so either Jarrett was keeping things close to the vest or he was just told sometime over the weekend.

Jarrett had a falling out with WWE management over a payoff in 1999 just before his final match on a pay-per-view. He had been persona non grata for many years and the feeling was that it would be unlikely that Jarrett and WWE would ever work together again.

Well, fences were mended and it looks like all is well. Hopefully, this will open the door for WWE to do more with him. A DVD release and a WWE Network special would be nice.

The story on WWE.com has a nice bio on him. They mention his post-Attitude Era run but they don’t mention TNA or Impact Wrestling by name.

Jarrett is a four-time WCW Champion, 3-time WCW United States Champion, 6-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and former WWE World Tag Team Champion.

Congrats to Jarrett on the well-deserved induction.
