Fox 13 in Memphis got the first public comments from Jerry “The King” Lawler after the death of his son Brian Christopher Lawler.
Jerry said that he rushed to get back to Memphis from an appearance in North Carolina once he was told about his son’s situation and that he was “glad to hold his son’s hand when his heart stopped beating around 3:30 p.m.” Lawler said that his family has been appreciative of the support from friends and fans.
As previously noted, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed that Brian was found hanging in his jail cell and never recovered. Regarding the investigation, Jerry Lawler said, “There may be more to this than meets the eye.” The TBI spoke with Jerry and asked him not to comment further until the investigation is complete.
Visitation and funeral service for Brian Christopher Lawler will be on Friday at Hope Church on Walnut Grove Road in Memphis. Visitation starts at noon and the funeral service starts at 2 pm local time.
