Jerry Lawler files wrongful death lawsuit over his son/former WWE star Brian Christopher

KAIT 8 in Memphis is reporting that Jerry “The King” Lawler has filed a wrongful death lawsuit over the death of his son and former WWE Superstar Brian Christopher.

The lawsuit filed against Hardeman County, TN seeks damages for “numerous failures of the county and its employees that resulted in the wrongful death of his son.”

Jerry’s son Brian was found hanging in his jail cell on July 19, 2018, and the cause of death was ruled a suicide. However, Jerry is disputing the suicide being the cause of death and noted that the injuries that his son suffered are not consistent with suicide.

Furthermore, Jerry states that jail staff put his son in solitary confinement after he was assaulted by another inmate and the staff at the jail failed to get him medical care, despite an open wound and a suspected concussion.

The suit also says that Brian did not receive an assessment to see if he was a suicide risk and he was left in a jail cell with shoelaces and bolts protruding from walls.

Jerry wants Sheriff John Doolen to make changes to the jail to protect inmates from future harm.
