Rusev was on this week’s episode of “The Jerry Lawler Show” podcast to talk about the wedding segment that he was involved in with Lana, Bobby Lashley and Liv Morgan.
Rusev noted that he was inside the cake for 30 minutes and it was hot inside so he was sweaty by the time he needed to pop out.
He also joked about Lashley having fake eyebrows painted on above his eyes. He said the eyebrows rubbed off on Lana during the segment when they kissed each other.
Lawler’s co-host, Sean Reedy, pointed out the big numbers the segment did on YouTube. Rusev said the numbers show how successful the storyline has been. Rusev has said in interviews that he’s been having fun with everything so that should put out any rumors that he’s been miserable throughout all of this.
Rusev also pointed out that Lana and Morgan were really close and they celebrated New Year’s Eve on at least two occasions. Click here to see photos of Lana and Morgan during their happier days.
There were a few interesting tidbits during this interview including a note on Vince McMahon. As previously noted, McMahon loves this storyline. In fact, he loves the storyline so much that he made a point to get to Raw even though he had other things on his plate with the XFL launching next month.
Lawler said McMahon has missed several episodes of Raw and SmackDown in the last few months because he’s been busy with the XFL.
Lawler said, “He actually left Hartford, CT at 2 o’clock in the afternoon and everybody thought he was gone. Vince has his own office there, and he told everybody he had to leave at 2 o’clock. He left and the limousines took him out.” Lawler said he and some of the crew that was backstage moved from the talent relations office into McMahon’s office because they didn’t realize he would be back.
Lawler continued, “At about 5:30 or so, somebody comes in and says, ‘Hey, Vince is on his way back, he doesn’t want to miss the wedding!'”
Lawler said everyone had to scramble to put Vince’s office back together. “Vince came back just to make sure he was there for the wedding. So, it was great.”
