WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler has been a mainstay in the WWE for over two decades and interesting enough, it turns out that he has had the same deal with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon for 25 years.
Former longtime Monday Night Raw commentary team “Good Ole’ JR” Jim Ross and Lawler are arguably the greatest announce team assembled in the history of the pro wrestling business.
While during a recent interview with Commercial Appeal on Sunday in order to promote the Royal Rumble PPV event, Lawler made it known that he’s had the same contract with WWE for 25 years.
In fact, each time his deal comes up, he gets a phone call from longtime WWE Executive Vice President Kevin Dunn to lock in new deals. However, the most recent conversation was a bit “unusual” because of the two-year aspect.
“I’ve had the same contract with (WWE) for 25 years now,” Lawler said. “Kevin Dunn calls me up around the same time every year. We don’t ever have to negotiate. But this one was a two-year contract, which was unusual.”
