Hulk Hogan seems to be back in the WWE fold. Last night it was announced that “The Hulkster” was reinstated into the WWE Hall Of Fame. He also spoke to the entire WWE roster before the Extreme Rules pay-per-view (PPV) and apologized for his racist comments several years ago.
A sex tape of the WWE Hall Of Famer leaked out back in 2015 and he made some racially incentive comments in the clip. WWE terminated their contract with him and had removed him from their Hall Of Fame. Now after several years have passed, there have been rumors circulating for months about a possible return to WWE TV for Hogan.
Things seem to be trending in the right direction after what happened last night. WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler was recently interviewed at the annual Florida Supercon. Lawler said that he believes the entire situation between Hogan and WWE, with the former WWE Champion being removed from the Hall Of Fame, was “blown out of proportion”:
“Well, no I’m not shocked at all,” Lawler said when he was asked about Hogan’s WWE return, “I was shocked while he wasn’t in the WWE Hall of Fame. I think the whole thing was just kind of blown out of proportion. I’ve known Hulk Hogan his entire career and for the claims about him being a racist or anything – it’s just absolutely never one ounce truth to that at all.
He continued, “Like I said, I’ve known the guy my whole life and he is a really good guy and I just felt it was an overreaction that he wasn’t in the WWE Hall Of Fame. We have to be politically correct these days. Honestly, I think we go too far overboard being politically correct. I am happy that he’s back. Hopefully, they’ll renew a working relationship with The Hulk for WWE. Let’s face it, without a doubt he is the most popular WWE Superstar of all time so it’s only right he should still be in the Hall of Fame and only right that he should still be working with the WWE.”
