Jey Uso Names Bloodline Civil War Match At MITB London His Number One Favorite

Main Event Jey Uso, appearing on the “No-Contest Wrestling” podcast, reflected on pivotal moments in his career, the unique dynamic of working with his family, and his current main event run in WWE.

Recalling his early days, Jey pinpointed his first match against Mark Henry on “WWE Superstars” as a crucial learning experience. “I saw a different man… I was a little bit shook,” Jey admitted, describing how Henry’s intensity showed him the level required. “That’s a light bulb that… kind of went off. I’m like, Okay, this at this level.”

He identified a Money in the Bank pre-show tag match against The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns) in Philadelphia as the bout that truly put The Usos on the map. “The Shield was the hottest thing at that moment… Place, damn, erupted,” he said. Despite the initial crowd support for The Shield, “by the end of the match, man, there was champ Usos, too… I kind of felt like, Oh, this is, this is what it’s supposed to be like.”

When asked about his favorite matches, Jey listed Usos vs. The Wyatt Family (2-out-of-3 falls) and Usos vs. The New Day (Hell in a Cell), but ranked his Money in the Bank 2023 match in London alongside Solo Sikoa against Roman Reigns and himself as number one. “That was our first one together, man… I’m looking it’s my family in here, and that’s a fun thing,” he explained.

He elaborated on the ease and enjoyment of wrestling with his brothers, including twin Jimmy Uso, even when portraying adversaries. Referring to their Royal Rumble 2024 encounter where they started the match, Jey said, “Man, we stand in the middle of the ring. He trying to make me laugh again… It doesn’t feel like work to me… I’m so calm with him in there… It’s easy, like I don’t get tired in there with him.” He added, “I want to do more with my brother… Big Jim is him.”

Jey also touched upon the responsibility that comes with his current solo stardom, referencing a recent intense promo opposite Gunther where he needed the crowd’s silence. “It was easy for me to be real, because I did talk about my mom,” he said, acknowledging the challenge: “It’s hard to command silence… I’m telling the crowd to chill… so y’all can feel this. And I did feel that… by the end of the promos, I had them… in the palm of my hand.”

Reflecting on his journey, including being featured on the cover of the WWE 2K25 video game with his family, Jey embraces a “marathon” mindset inspired by Nipsey Hussle. “Never thought I’d be here… I just knew I had to bust my ass. And then… the other doors open up,” he stated. “Stay consistent to this business… I just try to stay humble with it us and embrace it.”
