Jey Uso On WWE WrestleMania Match: This Is Do Or Die For Me. I’m Not Supposed To Be In This Position

Jey Uso’s victory in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble has sparked a mixed reaction from WWE fans. Some celebrated his win, and others questioned his worthiness, particularly given the high-profile opponents he defeated, including John Cena, Roman Reigns, and CM Punk.

World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is slated to defend his title against Uso at WWE WrestleMania 41. Uso spoke with Shakiel Mahjouri of CBS Sports about the importance of the match.

“This is do or die for me. I feel like I am doubted a lot. A lot of people are doubting me right now, Uce. I’m not supposed to be in this position. I know that. They know that. But I’m going to shut them all up.”

Uso also discussed his disappointing match with Jimmy Uso at WrestleMania 40 last year and his plans to redeem himself this year.

“I always thought we put on great matches. If you look at it, we had great matches with The Wyatt Family, The Shield, The New Day. Now, I feel like I’ve had a couple of good matches but not ones that stick in people’s minds,” Uso said. “This is redemption time on the big stage. The pressure is on.”

WWE WrestleMania 41 takes place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, April 19th, and Sunday, April 20th, 2025.
