Jey Uso says most of his promos with Roman Reigns are not scripted, he would love to be managed by Paul Heyman

WWE Superstar Jey Uso was interviewed this week on the Gorilla Position podcast to promote this Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, where he will challenge for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship.

Here are some highlights from the interview:

Jey talked about his storyline with Roman Reigns: “I never saw me in an angle with my cousin. Nobody saw how good it would get. That’s why I’m fighting him in Hell in the Cell again for the Universal Championship. If it feels real to me, it is going to feel real to the people.”

Jey was asked who’s idea was this: “That old man (Vince McMahon) is a genius for a reason. I’m pretty sure he put that idea out there and his team was like, eh. It is working.”

Jey was asked how much of the promos in this angle are written out: “In terms of what I’m saying and what he is saying, not a lot. I am reacting to what he is saying because they can’t write our promos. They can’t write how he feels about me and how I feel about him. We got to the level where they trust us and let us do our thing. It feels good to finally get to that level where they took the chains off us.”

Jey said Paul Heyman adds to the storyline: “When Paul Heyman is in the mix, you know it’s going to be lit. When I wasn’t even a part of this and I saw Roman come back and Heyman was sitting with him, as a fan I was like yea. That man is a creative genius too. That’s why he is still in the game for so long. I would love for him to manage us one day too.”

Jey was asked if he can hear the piped in crowd noise in the Thunderdome:  “Yea, I can hear it. I hate it though. There is no energy. I have to draw that from my opponent. That’s like dancing in an empty room with a mirror as opposed to when it’s go time with the people. So that part I miss because I have to draw that from within myself. I really miss the people. That’s what made wrestling special.”
