On his latest podcast (Rip Rogers episode), Jim Cornette gave his review of the Pete Dunne vs. Tyler Bate UK Championship match from NXT Takeover: Chicago. Cornette said, “They had a great match, a good solid match. They are wonderful proponents of mat wrestling and a lot of the World Of Sport influenced style.” He put over Nigel McGuinness and Jim Ross’ call.
He added, “they sold everything they did and you saw the toll that it was taking on their body and you saw the pain and the reaction.” He noted how one dive worked and the second one was the one that led to the end of the match. The only negative is that they look so young facially. Other than that and minor issues with how their punches looked, he was a fan of the match.

Matt Hardy’s application for the “Broken Matt Hardy” trademark has been denied. It appears that there was an error or some information missing when he filed so that is why it was denied and it does not necessarily mean anything in regards to his claims against Impact/Anthem and he has six months to respond.
The denial refusal: “Registration is refused because the applied-for mark, as used on the specimen of record, identifies only the name of a particular character/personal name; it does not function as a service mark to identify and distinguish applicant’s services from those of others and to indicate the source of applicant’s services.”
