Jim Cornette says Dave Lagana tried to get the NWA on the WWE Network

Jim Cornette shared an interesting story on the latest episode of his Jim Cornette Experience podcast.

The legendary manager went into detail about how the NWA was originally thinking that they would air their weekly TV show on WWE’s streaming service, WWE Network.

He brought this up after talking about first working for the NWA and how production meetings work. Cornette noted that this revelation came after Dave Lagana told him about doing a TV show and when Cornette asked where it would air, Lagana wasn’t sure at that point but it could be on the Network.

“The NWA show was what they were thinking was going to end up on the [WWE] Network.”

Cornette later stated, “He [Lagana] did have meetings unless he was just bald-faced lying to me.” Cornette said he was skeptical about this actually happening because he questioned Lagana over his belief that WWE would put an NWA television show on their network.

Cornette talked about how he wasn’t going to tell Lagana that he wasn’t going to work a weekly TV show with more dates because he didn’t think the NWA would air their show on the WWE Network.

After a few weeks of being told about various plans, “Finally, he called and said ‘Well, we’re going to do it on YouTube.”

That’s when Cornette was informed that it would be a studio show and in Atlanta where they would film the show every six or eight weeks.
