WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has addressed his future with the sports entertainment company. The legendary commentator did so on his latest Ross Report where he brought up how his contract with the WWE ends in March and is set to be a free agent.
Ross was open and honest when it comes to this as he made it known that he thinks WWE is going in a direction where they’re looking for younger talent.
“WWE is constantly trying to get younger and more TV-friendly,” said Ross. “Of which I am neither. I just don’t see it happening, and I’m fine with that. I think the ship has sailed for me. I’ve had 26 years there so far. I have nothing to bitch about. I made a lot of money. More money than I ever dreamed I’d make in the wrestling business. Much more.”
“We’ll find out soon. My contract is up at the end of March. We’ll see what happens after that. Whatever it is, it’s going to be good.”
It will be interesting to see where Ross ends up next as there are some possibilities out there for him. He could return to AXS TV to call the weekly NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling) program or head to the newly launched All Elite Wrestling promotion.
