We noted earlier that Jim Ross had to go to the hospital after getting injured during NJPW’s G1 Special in San Francisco on Saturday night. Ross said that he believed he suffered a broken rib. The Wrestling Observer website reports that Ross was diagnosed wish issues involving both his lungs and ribs. He was also told to be cautious because there was fear that he could contract pneumonia.
As you could imagine, Ross is not happy about this and he had to cancel some upcoming commitments. Dave Meltzer noted that Ross asked NJPW officials on Friday to keep wrestlers away from the broadcast position since wrestlers in NJPW like to wrestle in the crowd. Apparently, the barricades at ringside were not connected and that is why they tipped over when White shoved Juice Robinson. Ross and Josh Barnett both said on Twitter that the spot with White and Robinson by the barricade was not planned and nothing involving them was a work in any way.
The Observer also notes that the rib injury led to significant pain whenever he moves, coughs, or yawns. We send along best wishes to JR for a speedy recovery.
